BOOK REVIEWS

Do You Have What it Takes to be Secret Agent? Stayed on the edge of my seat reading this thought-provoking, insightful book! I laughed, I cried, I cringed. Michele shared personal stories and experiences that shaped and molded her to be at the top of her game as a CIA agent. By giving readers an insightful view into the world of espionage, Michele has torn away from the glamorous lifestyle that is often purported by Hollywood. If anything, Breaking Cover may inspire readers to see if they have what it takes to be a covert agent!

Like most readers, Michele often doubted if she was doing the right thing or even the right person for the job. She was faced with a steady wall of challenges simply for being an American, a female, and a Christian. With God’s grace, she was able to endure and overcome each of those challenges and many more. Her faith is refreshing to see. I look forward to seeing more from this inspiring author!

Captivating and Inspiring! Incredibly refreshing and inspiring book. It honors those who serve a noble cause, and acknowledges human frailty and inspire courage to stand up and do things you thought were impossible. As someone who served in the government, I think this book will also shed light on the unsung heroes that continue to serve and provide security for the homeland and elsewhere around the world. Even if you’re not an avid reader, you will have a hard time putting this book down as it is riveting and tells true stories that will make you want to “get off the X” and do more using the natural gifts we are all born with.

Working to make all things good despite how hard the enemy is working Michele Rigby Assad’s book, Breaking Cover, is a can’t put down read. She tells her story of her life in the CIA in a way that grips your interest and keeps you reading page after page. Her account of the adventures that take place overseas will open your eyes to the life of sacrifice and service that we often don’t think about and definitely don’t understand. Michele adds in doses of humor along the way, in the midst of tales that will leave you in disbelief of all that she encountered.

While the accounts of adventure and struggle are plentiful, it’s the thread of a faithful trust in God that is inspiring. In her book, Asaad writes, “In the meantime, I trusted that God had a plan – he always does. It might not be as clear as day, but it’s always there, preparing us for what’s to come.” There are lessons throughout Breaking Cover that remind me that God is in fact always there, always working, and always looking ahead. Many of her recounts show that while there is tragedy and evil in this world, there is also God, working to make all things good despite how hard the enemy is working.
